10 injured, 3 legislation enforcement officers hurt after gunfire erupts in Charleston, S.C.

Ten individuals were injured, four critically, and three regulation enforcement officers had been hurt Monday night after gunfire erupted in downtown Charleston, South Carolina, in response to police. 

Charleston Mayor John Tecklenburg known as the Memorial Day rampage a mass shooting, saying "we’re counting our blessings that no one on this incident was killed."

Shots have been fired in the area of 41 South Avenue around 11:40 p.m. Monday, the location of a vacant lot where a large social gathering was taking place with more than 100 individuals believed to be in attendance, Charleston Police Chief Luther T. Reynolds stated in a news conference Tuesday afternoon.

Four of the 10 folks injured had been in important condition in hospitals. It isn't clear how many injuries were gunshot wounds.

“There’s lots of weapons that had been fired. Handguns, lengthy guns, 223 rounds. If anyone doesn’t know what a 223 round will do, it’ll blow your leg proper off, it’ll blow your head proper off your shoulders. Those are the forms of rounds that had been fired final night time,” Reynolds stated.
