As the Covid situation has improved, a number of companies have already known as their workers to office, ending the work from home (WFH).
Nonetheless, it seems some employees want to work at home further. Recently, tons of of employees have resigned when a company asked them to come to the office.
Over 800 WhiteHat Jr employees have resigned from the children online coding learning edtech start-up within the final two months after being asked to work from office.
This comes after WhiteHat Jr, a platform which was acquired by BYJU’S in 2020, asked its employees to return to office inside a month’s time, based on an Inc42 report.
On March 18, the corporate announced the policy to finish do business from home and requested distant workers to return to office by April 18.
The resignations got here from full-time staff of the gross sales, coding, and math groups. Extra employees are anticipated to put down their papers in the coming months.
One of many workers who resigned told the website that a month’s time was not enough for relocation. “Some have kids, some have aged and sick dad and mom, while others have other tasks. It's not proper to call back workers in such a brief time frame,” the former WhiteHat Jr worker said.
Another employee stated salaries also factored within the choice to not return to the workplace. On the time of hiring, workers had been advised about their job location – WhiteHat Jr has offices in Gurugram, Mumbai and Bengaluru. However, after working from house for two years, employees believed that their salaries should be revised to reflect the cost of residing in expensive cities.
“This was a well-planned and managed layoff that WhiteHat Jr did,” a former worker remarked.
