A fifth grade pupil in Florida was arrested over the weekend and charged with sending a text message threatening to carry out a mass capturing, authorities stated.

In a press release Saturday, the Lee County Sheriff’s Workplace said it had discovered earlier that day of a "threatening text message" sent by a pupil at an elementary college.

It mentioned its native school risk enforcement workforce was instantly notified and began investigating. The ten-year-old boy was interviewed and charged later with "making a written threat to conduct a mass shooting," the sheriff's workplace mentioned.

In video shared by authorities, the boy may be seen being led into a police vehicle.

“This scholar’s conduct is sickening, especially after the latest tragedy in Uvalde, Texas,” Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno stated in a statement, noting that the risk came simply days after the deadly college taking pictures at Robb Elementary Faculty left 19 students and two academics useless.

“Proper now isn't the time to behave like just a little delinquent. It’s not humorous,” he said. “This little one made a faux threat, and now he’s experiencing real penalties.”
