Gabe Kapler: ‘I don’t plan on coming out for the anthem going ahead until I feel higher about the path of our nation’

Speaking within the dugout of the Nice American Ballpark in Cincinnati, Ohio, Kapler mentioned, "I don't plan on popping out for the anthem going forward until I really feel better in regards to the direction of our nation."

"We weren't given bravery, and we aren't free. The police on the scene put a mom in handcuffs as she begged them to go in and save her kids. They blocked parents trying to arrange to cost in to cease the shooter, together with a father who learned his daughter was murdered whereas he argued with the cops. We aren't free when politicians determine that the lobbyist and gun industries are more necessary than our youngsters's freedom to go to school without having bulletproof backpacks and lively shooter drills," Kapler wrote.

Later, Kapler wrote about his disillusionment with what he called "the shortage of supply of the promise of what our national anthem represents."

"I'm not okay with the state of this country. I want I hadn't let my discomfort compromise my integrity. I wish that I could have demonstrated what I realized from my dad, that if you're dissatisfied together with your country, you let it's known by means of protest. The house of the brave ought to encourage this."

Kerr refused to talk about basketball forward of Sport 4 of the Warriors' collection against the Dallas Mavericks, as a substitute elevating his voice as he railed against gun violence in the wake of Tuesday's capturing.

"Within the last 10 days, we have had elderly Black people killed in a grocery store in Buffalo, we've had Asian churchgoers killed in Southern California, now we've children murdered in school," Kerr instructed reporters initially of the press convention.

"When are we going to do something? I'm tired. I am so uninterested in getting up here and offering condolences to the devastated households which are out there ... I am bored with the moments of silence. Enough."
