BARNSTEAD, N.H. -- A person was arrested Friday after multiple signs saying "school shooter" had been present in Barnstead, Epsom, and Pittsfield, New Hampshire, the state's Department of Safety announced. Guy Hanson, 61, of Pittsfield, faces a number of expenses.

An increased amount of police officers had been placed at faculties in the communities on account of the signs. A number of faculties initiated lockdowns as a precaution shortly after.

Hanson allegedly placed the indicators across the communities, the Department of Safety stated, however they determined there isn't a credible menace presently.

One such sign was written on a paper plate. The security division released a photograph of the plate but blurred a part of it "to protect the integrity of the investigation." 

Hanson was arrested on a felony cost of legal threatening and three misdemeanor fees including false report to regulation enforcement, false public alarm and felony threatening. He is being held in Merrimack County Jail pending a hearing scheduled for Tuesday.

No other suspects have been charged right now.
