College students walk out of colleges in protest of gun violence

Days after not less than 19 elementary college college students and two teachers have been killed in a mass taking pictures at an elementary college in Uvalde, Texas, students at faculties around the country staged walkouts to protest gun violence.

In Michigan, students at Oxford Excessive Faculty, where a college shooting occurred in November, staged a walkout at 12 p.m. on Thursday. 4 students were killed within the shooting.

Students at Saugus Excessive Faculty in Santa Clarita, California, additionally walked out of class, in help of the national gun safety movement. The school was the site of a shooting in November 2019, during which two college students were killed.

"You see information each day about kids getting shot and people your age dying and it's just extremely sad and unbelievable, especially to see like youngsters youthful and children my age," Janoff informed ABC News. "I cant imagine that being me; but it's imaginable because it happens so often."

The 17 year-old says her college's administration was in support of the walkout and she hopes the over 200 planned demonstrations throughout the country ship a clear message that college students are a "united entrance."

A walkout might not essentially change laws, Janoff said, but these actions show "college students are still united on this."

She stated that though most students aren't sufficiently old to vote, they nonetheless wish to see change and are willing to take measures to have their voices heard in politics.

"Students don't must be quiet about it just because they're a child," Janoff mentioned.
