Teen arrested after mom seen son had gun at Texas faculty drop-off

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD/Gray News) - Several companies responded to a center faculty in Texas Friday morning after a teenager’s mom observed he was carrying a gun.
Police in Lubbock tell KCBD a mom was dropping off her 15-year-old son at O.L. Slaton Middle School around 9 a.m. when she observed the firearm. The teenager by no means made it inside the building, and he ran from the varsity.
The Lubbock Police Department responded to the area together with a number of different companies in an try to search out him.
The teenager was discovered near the varsity’s campus and taken into custody.
Authorities said the 15-year-old might be dealing with a felony weapons charge.
Police say there was no menace made to the college or anyone inside the college.
O.L. Slaton Middle College was briefly placed on lockout because of the incident.
