800 employees resign after firm asks them to work from workplace

As the Covid situation has improved, several corporations have already known as their workers to office, ending the do business from home (WFH).

However, it appears some employees want to do business from home further. Just lately, lots of of staff have resigned when a company requested them to come to the workplace.

Over 800 WhiteHat Jr staff have resigned from the kids online coding studying edtech start-up in the last two months after being asked to work from workplace.

This comes after WhiteHat Jr, a platform which was acquired by BYJU’S in 2020, requested its workers to return to office inside a month’s time, according to an Inc42 report.

On March 18, the company announced the policy to end earn a living from home and asked distant workers to return to workplace by April 18.

The resignations came from full-time staff of the gross sales, coding, and math groups. More workers are expected to place down their papers in the coming months.

One of the staff who resigned informed the web site that a month’s time was not enough for relocation. “Some have youngsters, some have aged and sick mother and father, while others have other duties. It's not proper to name again staff in such a brief time frame,” the previous WhiteHat Jr worker mentioned.

Another employee mentioned salaries also factored within the resolution to not return to the workplace. On the time of hiring, employees were instructed about their job location – WhiteHat Jr has places of work in Gurugram, Mumbai and Bengaluru. Nonetheless, after working from residence for 2 years, employees believed that their salaries should be revised to reflect the price of residing in expensive cities.
