Because the Covid situation has improved, a number of firms have already known as their employees to workplace, ending the work from home (WFH).

Nevertheless, it appears some staff want to do business from home further. Just lately, a whole bunch of staff have resigned when a company requested them to come back to the workplace.

Over 800 WhiteHat Jr staff have resigned from the children on-line coding learning edtech start-up in the final two months after being asked to work from office.

This comes after WhiteHat Jr, a platform which was acquired by BYJU’S in 2020, requested its staff to return to office within a month’s time, based on an Inc42 report.

On March 18, the company announced the policy to end make money working from home and requested distant workers to return to office by April 18.

The resignations came from full-time staff of the gross sales, coding, and math groups. More workers are anticipated to put down their papers within the coming months.

One of the employees who resigned told the website that a month’s time was not enough for relocation. “Some have kids, some have aged and sick mother and father, whereas others have other tasks. It's not proper to name again employees in such a brief period of time,” the previous WhiteHat Jr worker stated.

Another employee stated salaries also factored within the resolution to not return to the office. On the time of hiring, employees were instructed about their job location – WhiteHat Jr has offices in Gurugram, Mumbai and Bengaluru. However, after working from residence for 2 years, staff believed that their salaries needs to be revised to mirror the cost of residing in costly cities.

“This was a well-planned and managed layoff that WhiteHat Jr did,” a former employee remarked.
