Speaking in the dugout of the Nice American Ballpark in Cincinnati, Ohio, Kapler stated, "I do not plan on popping out for the anthem going forward till I feel better about the route of our nation."

In a weblog post, Kapler questioned whether the country's management is dedicated to representing its people's best interests and whether or not the USA is truly "the land of the free and the house of the brave."

"We weren't given bravery, and we aren't free. The police on the scene put a mother in handcuffs as she begged them to go in and save her children. They blocked mother and father making an attempt to organize to charge in to stop the shooter, together with a father who learned his daughter was murdered while he argued with the cops. We aren't free when politicians resolve that the lobbyist and gun industries are more essential than our youngsters's freedom to go to school without needing bulletproof backpacks and energetic shooter drills," Kapler wrote.

Later, Kapler wrote about his disillusionment with what he referred to as "the shortage of delivery of the promise of what our national anthem represents."

"I am not okay with the state of this nation. I wish I hadn't let my discomfort compromise my integrity. I wish that I may have demonstrated what I learned from my dad, that whenever you're dissatisfied along with your nation, you let or not it's known by protest. The home of the courageous ought to encourage this."

Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr made an impassioned plea to take stronger motion against gun violence in the USA.

Kerr refused to discuss basketball forward of Recreation 4 of the Warriors' series against the Dallas Mavericks, instead raising his voice as he railed towards gun violence within the wake of Tuesday's taking pictures.

"Within the last 10 days, we've had aged Black individuals killed in a supermarket in Buffalo, we've had Asian churchgoers killed in Southern California, now we've children murdered in school," Kerr informed reporters at the beginning of the press convention.

"When are we going to do something? I'm tired. I'm so bored with getting up here and offering condolences to the devastated families that are on the market ... I am bored with the moments of silence. Sufficient."
